Maintaing During COVID-19

Hello to all students! I miss seeing you guys! I hope that everyone is doing well even though staying at home alot can be tough at times. I hope that you all are completing your work successfully and doing your very best like I know you can! While we've been away from each other, I have found some ways to keep myself busy like cleaning, decorating, and painting my house. What are some fun things you all have been doing to keep busy? Please share below! Keep in mind what you say on here is public :-) Hope to hear from you all soon! And if you don't want to answer on here, please email me at [email protected]

Mindful Monday!

Good morning! I hope you are doing well! This is the start of a new week...guess what that means? You are one step closer to completing the semester! You may think "Oh no! How am I supposed to get all this work done?!?" Don't worry...you can do it! One way to help you relax before starting on your work is to practice what is called MINDFULNESS. Today's mindfulness activity is simple...for 1 HOUR, yawn and stretch every 10 seconds. Do a fake yawn if you have to, it will trigger real ones. Say "Ahh" as you exhale (make sure you've brushed your teeth...LOL). Notice how a yawn interrupts your thoughts and feelings. This brings you into the present.

Then...stretch really, really slowly for 10 seconds. Notice any tightness you have in your body as you stretch and say "ease" to the tightness. Keep in mind to do this without judgment of yourself...you are simply noticing and addressing. Notice the tightness for 20 seconds and then go back to what you are doing. It may seem strange or feel weird to do, but with everything, you'll become more comfortable with practice. Have fun with it and take care!

Mindfulness Exercise

On MINDFUL/MOTIVATION MONDAY we want to start the week off right. Remaining mindful of your body can help to eliminate tension and stress for an overall uplifted spirit and a relaxed mind. Try out this muscle relaxation exercise from biglifejournal.com

TENSE and RELEASE
1. Starting at the feet, gently squeeze the muscles in the feet by tightening them, then slowly releasing them.

2. Next, squeeze the large muscles in the calves for 5 seconds, then gently release. Working your way up the body, squeeze the thigh muscles for 5 seconds then gently release.

3. Continue moving up the body for more relaxation.

Happy Monday! Take care and make good choices.

Motivation Monday!!

"You can't stop trouble from coming, but you don't have to give it a chair to sit on."

Trouble is inevitable in each of our lives, but you don't have to give it permission to stay just because it comes for a visit. Deal with it head-on (the best you know how) and dismiss it from your space. Be like a duck in water...you can get wet, but shake it off and keep on swimming! #yougotthis #keepgoing #temporary #dismiss #motivation

Be well,

MOTIVATION MONDAY

Quotes are often short, yet powerful ways to keep ourselves motivated for the day and for life. This Motivation Monday quote is one to remember:

"You have the power to change the world. Use it to make a difference."

So if you see something in your neighborhood, community, or in the world that you don't like or think you can help to improve...be the change you want to see. Remember, you don't have to do it alone. Create a vision and share it with others who are motivated to help you reach your goals to make the world a better place.

Take Care Until Next Time...
