Ms. Monica Harvey, CTAE Director and Assistant Principal
Ms. Harvey is a native of Fort Valley, GA, which is why she refers to herself as an “original” Georgia Peach. After graduating from Peach County High School, she earned her B.A. in English from Spelman College, her M.A.T. degree from Norfolk State University, and she is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree at Columbus State University.
Ms. Harvey began her educational career as an English teacher, and she has taught in various locations including California, Maryland, Virginia, and Japan. Before becoming a member of the MCHS administrative team, Ms. Harvey served as an English teacher and as an Instructional Coach for the English and Social Studies departments. As CTAE Director, Ms. Harvey works with a team of exceptional instructors to provide opportunities for students to explore various careers and to develop the employability skills required for them to be proactive, productive, and responsible citizens who understand what it means to be lifelong learners.
According to Ms. Harvey, her greatest blessings call her Mom; she is the proud parent of two phenomenal daughters, Jordyn and Cydney. Ms. Harvey deems it an honor to be a servant leader at Macon County High School. She is dedicated to ensuring that all students reach their full potential, always encouraging them to dream big and to bloom wherever they are planted.
