Mrs. Sarah Barfield
Meet Mrs. Barfield
Mrs. Barfield is our certified Media and Technology Specialist for Macon County High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree with a double major in English and Secondary Education from Mercer University in Macon, GA where she was also inducted into the Kappa Delta Epsilon honor sorority for excellence in Education. She taught 8 years in Houston County as a high school ELA teacher. Mrs. Barfield earned her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology/Media Specialist from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA where she graduated with a 4.0. Then she became a media specialist at an elementary school in Houston County for 7 years. Mrs. Barfield came to Macon County High School in 2014 as our media specialist, and she has since earned her Education Specialist degree in Instructional Technology, also with a 4.0 GPA. Mrs. Barfield curates our entire collection of print and digital materials for students and teachers. She also manages all the Chromebooks, laptops, instructional flat panels, and all other technology in the building. Additionally, Mrs. Barfield provides technology training and instruction for teachers, administrators, staff, and students. She also designs and manages the school website, digital marquee, and social media accounts as well as the MCHS Yearbook.
Mrs. Barfield lives in Elko, GA with her husband who is a US Air Force veteran. She has one daughter who is in college. In her free time, Mrs. Barfield enjoys watching Marvel movies, Harry Potter, and cheesy disaster movies like Sharknado. She also enjoys the peace and quiet that can only be found in nature.
