Ms. ZacLyn Miller, an MCHS Honor graduate, returned for a Women’s History Month edition of Bulldog Power. ZacLyn shared her story from the DAWG house to The White House in a dynamic, engaging, and inspirational message. ZacLyn emphasized that there are no limits with a Macon County education because “2+2=4 no matter where you learn it, it is what YOU DO with it that matters.” ZacLyn encouraged the students to pursue their goals with passion and confidence, knowing that they come from a school that has produced many people who achieved great academic success. She empowered students to define their standards for success and encouraged them to have an eagle perspective in life.
ZacLyn Miller is a recipient of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Award for Outstanding Achievement for her executive leadership on an array of Defense matters. This prestigious honor is one of the top three civilian awards from OSD. Her technical expertise led to her briefing in The White House. She surpassed traditional networks and expectations to become the first Black woman and youngest to be a Chief in the science and technology directorate of her organization. ZacLyn has held roles, such as Senior Engineer, Branch Chief, and Technical Director, throughout her career. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Fort Valley State University, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

Parents, Guardians, and Students, we will have a school-wide Chromebook and Charger inventory on March 4th and 5th. Please be sure to bring your Chromebook and Charger to school on Tuesday and Wednesday. You will need the one issued to you, not one you borrowed from a friend. Please look for your lost Chromebooks and Chargers.

Parents and Guardians, we have over 150 students with lost chargers and/or Chromebooks. This is making instruction in the classroom difficult for your students. Please help your students locate the missing chargers and Chromebooks. All Chromebooks should be fully charged and brought to school each day. Students are not allowed to bring personal devices to school. This includes iPads, personal Chromebooks, laptops, etc. The replacement cost for chargers is $25. If your student does not have a school-issued charger, then he/she can purchase one in the media center.

On the 5th of February, the FBLA and TSA students of Macon County High School participated in the GaCTSO Legislative Expo at the State Capitol in Atlanta, GA.

Congratulations to Jeremiah Solomon for his Commitment and Scholarship to play football at Kennesaw State University! Your hard work in the classroom and on the field will continue to take you on to further success. Macon County is proud of you!
