Athens, GA – March 18, 2024 – The Georgia Technology Student Association (TSA) State Leadership Conference concluded Saturday after three days of intense competition and camaraderie, showcasing the talents of middle and high school students representing 182 schools from across the state. Hosted in the city of Athens, Georgia the conference featured more than 80 competitive events, highlighting innovation, teamwork, and leadership in various technological fields.
From March 13-16, students from Macon County High School TSA Chapter and beyond gathered to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in 85 competitive events including Cybersecurity, Coding, Electric Vehicles, VEX robotics, Manufacturing Prototype, Structural Engineering, Flight, Data Science and Analytics and Engineering Design to Digital Video Production and Software Development. The conference provided a platform for members to challenge themselves, collaborate with peers, and showcase their talents.
Macon County High School TSA Chapter distinguished itself at the Georgia TSA State Leadership Conference, securing commendable results. Their dedication, hard work, and innovative spirit exemplify the core values of TSA and serve as an inspiration to aspiring technologists across the state.
"This year’s SLC attendance was a record 3060. In addition, over 170 volunteers, alumni and judges help produce the event at the Classic Center in Athens for our 63rd annual conference. In addition to the hands-on individual and team competitions, the conference included the opportunity to attend business, industry and college interest sessions and displays. Georgia’s State School Superintendent Richard Woods was our Keynote Speaker at our opening session. The chapter voting delegates elected the seven new state officers for the ‘24-’25 school year during the business meeting and 255 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies, 850 finalist pins as well as the overall chapters were awarded during the Awards Session on Saturday. We are very proud of the effort shown by our members," said Steve Price, Georgia TSA Executive Director.
The success of the Georgia TSA State Leadership Conference would not have been possible without the support of dedicated TSA advisors, volunteers, and sponsors who are committed to empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders.
